New Article: “Community Partners in the Classroom”

Our very own, Jessica Mace, has posted another article on PLATFORM titled “Community Partners in the Classroom”!

In this article, she explores how experiential learning (EL) outside of a typical lecture room teaches students transferable skills that will benefit them in their future endeavours. Partnering with the Ontario Heritage Trust (OHT), Mace’s students in FAH473 actively collaborated with OHT’s staff members to understand how their class projects can have a public impact on the community. This course also helped teach students about the locally rich heritage and environment of Toronto.

Read her article here to learn more about this Canada Constructed initiative and how Jessica is rethinking how architectural history courses can be taught with new, engaging methods.
